Ultrasound Technician
**Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first** The Ultrasound Technician operates specialized ultrasound equipment as prescribed by the physician. Keeps treatment records and prepares operational reports as required. Maintains, stores and orders supplies and equipment. Decisions are typically focused on methods, tactics and processes for completing administrative tasks/projects. Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in prioritizing requests and interpreting and adapting procedures, processes and techniques, and works under limited guidance due to previous experience/breadth and depth of knowledge of administrative processes and organizational knowledge. Must have certification as an Ultrasound Technician (or equivalent). **This position will support both the Primary Care Organization (PCO) for in clinic services as well as Primary Care Anywhere (PCA) for in home echos for the west side of the Atlanta Market.** **Job Functions:** ·Be able to interact and communicate effectively – both orally and in writing – with healthcare providers, including other Sonographers, Physicians, and Nurses ·Be well-versed in Medical Terminology ·Be capable of explaining the purpose of the Echocardiographic examination to the patient and answering patients’ questions ·Be aware of proper infection control, including precautionary procedures ·Be familiar with, and in compliance with, relevant laws regarding patient confidentiality and privacy ·Be competent in first aid and certified in Basic Life Support ·ARDMS and/or CCI certifications are maintained and up to date ·Performs 2D echo with color flow Doppler exam in ≤ 45 minutes ·Sonographer consistently demonstrates good judgment with regard to use of echo contrast ·Consistent patient preparations, including evaluation of requisition or medical record ·Preparation of exam room, identification of patient, infection control procedures (i.e. Standard Precautions) patient assessment and instruction concerning the procedure ·Follows exam protocol listed in Partners in Integrated Care Echo lab guidelines **Use your skills to make an impact** **Required Qualifications** + ·Completion of Ultrasound Technology Training at an accredited school + Certification as an Ultrasound Technician (or equivalent) with 1+ years’ experience + ·Must have good knowledge of Ultrasound equipment and techniques + ·If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB + ·Must be a team player with excellent communication skills **Preferred Qualifications:** Knowledge in Vascular and Echo Experience with MS Outlook along with basic computer **Additional Information** This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program.
