Ultrasonographer - Veterinary Imaging Acquisition Specialist

**Position Summary**
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled **Imaging Acquisition Specialist** to join our veterinary medical team. This role focuses on the **technical acquisition** of diagnostic images using **ultrasound** . You will work closely with veterinarians and specialists to capture high-quality images that support accurate diagnoses, while interpretation of images remains the responsibility of credentialed doctors.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Perform patient preparation, including positioning, for ultrasound procedures. Other duties may also include CT procedures. Sedation and/or general anesthesia may be provided and monitored by our doctors and technicians.
+ Operate imaging equipment to acquire high-quality diagnostic studies in accordance with clinician directives.
+ Capture images for a wide variety of studies including abdominal, thoracic, neurologic, musculoskeletal, and cardiac scans.
+ Maintain accurate records, label and upload images to AIS or medical record systems.
+ Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process, employing low-stress handling techniques.
+ Maintain imaging suite cleanliness, assist with routine maintenance, and identify equipment concerns promptly.
+ Collaborate with veterinary teams to ensure proper scan protocols are followed and scheduling needs are met.
**Qualifications**
+ Completion of formal training through an accredited sonography training program.
+ Strong understanding of veterinary anatomy, physiology, and imaging principles.
+ Familiarity with equipment such as GE, Toshiba/Canon, Siemens, or similar platforms.
+ Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing standardized, high-quality images.
+ Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
**Preferred Experience**
+ Experience working in a specialty hospital or advanced imaging department.
+ Knowledge of DICOM standards and comfort working with PACS and RIS systems.
+ Ability to manage imaging across multiple modalities in a fast-paced setting.
**Work Environment & Schedule**
+ Specialty referral hospital setting with potential for evenings, weekends, or rotating shifts.
