This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between SENS-UAW and The New School. More information about this agreement and SENS-UAW may be found on the Labor Relations website. The pay rate is $29.20/hr, effective September 1, 2025.
Responsibilities:  Tutor undergraduate and graduate students in various coding languages, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Unity, Arduino and other languages you are fluent in.  Work with students of varying skill levels from demonstrating the basics to assisting with complex problems and a range of issues in between.  Create a professional and welcoming environment by modeling respect for students’ diverse cultures, language skills, and experiences. Complete  administrative tasks, such as writing brief descriptions of each session and emailing a brief summary of daily attendance during remote tutoring period. Other opportunities include leading in-class workshops and/or specialized ULC workshops.  Tutoring will be hybrid, with both online and in-person shifts (according to tutor availability).



Work Mode: HybridSalary: $29.20/hr Minimum Qualifications: Tutors must have strong knowledge of computer programming and a high level of expertise in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Knowledge of additional programming languages is highly preferred, especially Python.  Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at The New School. Prior tutoring, teaching, or similar experience, is preferred. Excellent communication skills Demonstrated reliability and punctuality Able to commit to 6 (or more) tutoring hours per week Willingness to tutor in person 25-50% of the time Preferred Qualifications: Federal Work Study preferred
