UKG Pro WFM Developer & Integration Specialist
Job Description

Job Summary 

The UKG Pro WFM Developer & Integration Specialist is an advanced technical role responsible for leading the analysis, design, development, and support of complex system interfaces within a healthcare environment. This specialist demonstrates expertise in industry trends, best practices, and interface programming using tools such as Rhapsody and HL7. The role involves ensuring seamless data integration, maintaining comprehensive documentation, and providing proactive solutions to optimize system performance. 

As an UKG Pro WFM Developer & Integration Specialist, at Community Health Systems (CHS) – Shared Business Operations, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our purpose to help people get well and live healthier by providing safe, quality healthcare, building enduring relationships with our patients, and providing value for the people and communities we serve. 

Essential Functions

Handles all BOOMI integrations and development in the UKG Pro WFM system and creates reports in UKG Pro WFM. Accountable for managing approximately 250 touch time clocks for the CHS system. Accountable for geofence configuration. Leads requirements analysis and solution design for new system interfaces, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices. Develops, maintains, and supports complex system interfaces, including real-time HL7 transaction processing and data integration. Manages and administers the interface engine, including updates, patches, and overall system maintenance to ensure reliability and performance. Creates and maintains accurate documentation for data flows, connectivity specifications, routing, filtering, and data manipulation processes. Troubleshoots and resolves interface issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including clinical and technical stakeholders, to ensure the successful integration of systems and data exchange. Ensures adherence to change control procedures, documenting changes and maintaining version control for interfaces. Analyzes and applies industry standards and best practices to enhance interface performance and data security. Provides expertise in the configuration and optimization of the interface engine, tailoring solutions to meet complex healthcare data integration requirements. Stays current with emerging technologies and interface protocols, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to improve system efficiency. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required Master's Degree preferred 7-9 years of experience in interface development, programming, and system integration within a healthcare setting required 4-6 years of experience with HL7 standards, Rhapsody interface engine, and other data exchange protocols required 2-4 years experience in performing high and low level project analysis and design required Experience leading medium scale enterprise-wide projects to successful completion required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Extensive familiarity with Tool Command Language (TCL) and JavaScript programming. Hands-on expertise in developing interfaces using Rhapsody and HL7 standards. Ability to design and implement scalable interface solutions, optimizing for performance and resource constraints. Advanced knowledge of real-time and batch interface processing, including polling, automation, and scheduling. Proficient in SQL coding (Transact-SQL or PL-SQL) and familiar with VBScript and DOS batch processing. Strong understanding of network architecture (TCP/IP), server configurations, redundancy, and clustering. Demonstrated ability to lead or participate in integration engine installations or upgrades, including risk analysis and performance monitoring. Experience with SDLC methodologies and IT frameworks, such as ITIL V3 Foundations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team. Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and provide accurate project estimates. Familiarity with SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and triggers is a plus.
