The Multi-Country Safety Head (MCSH) is a Patient Safety leader playing a key role in championing Patient Safety and ensuring that local Pharmacovigilance (PV) activities are performed in compliance with applicable PV regulations and quality documents to ensure the safe and appropriate use of Sanofi products across the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.

Main responsibilities:

Lead the UK and Ireland PV teams, including the Irish Country Safety Head (CSH), UK Medical Safety Officer, and PV Managers, ensuring oversight of all local PV activities and compliance.Provide strategic guidance to ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and continual improvement of local PV systems.Manage country-level PV budget planning, resource allocation, and coordination of outsourced activities.Drive talent development and succession planning to support long-term team capability.Foster collaboration across the UK/IE PV teams and share best practices across regions to enable high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective PV services.

In addition to the multi-country scope, the UK/IE MCSH also acts as the senior Patient Safety representative in the United Kingdom. In this role, the UK CSH:

Serves as the primary PV contact for the MHRA and acts as UK National Contact Person (UK NCP) for PV, working closely with the EU/UK QPPV.Ensures the local PV system is inspection-ready and fully compliant with regulatory expectations.Oversees all PV-related activities in the UK, ensuring the local teams are appropriately trained and resourced.Builds and maintains strong working relationships with both internal stakeholders (Medical, Regulatory, Quality, Legal, Commercial, Country Leadership) and external partners.Represents Sanofi in key industry forums and with patient safety organizations and regulatory bodies.Participates in the Sanofi UK extended leadership team, contributing to the strategic direction and country-level initiatives.

About you Extensive experience in pharmacovigilance, including direct interaction with regulatory bodies and audit/inspection processes.Proven leadership in managing international PV teams and navigating complex regulatory environments.Strong ability to build networks and foster collaboration across global and local functions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience influencing senior stakeholders.Customer-oriented mindset, comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments.Strategic thinker with the ability to manage competing priorities independently.Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to balance risks and benefits in complex scenarios.In-depth understanding of international, EU, and UK pharmacovigilance legislation and systems.Proficiency in using digital platforms and tools to drive operational excellence.

Education:

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, nursing, life sciences, or a healthcare-related field.Preferred: Master’s or Doctorate degree in a healthcare or scientific discipline.

Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
