The Opportunity:

CACI is currently looking for a UI/UX Designer with agile methodology experience to join our BEAGLE (Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology) Agile Solution Factory (ASF) Team supporting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) client located in Northern Virginia! Join this passionate team of industry-leading individuals supporting the best practices in Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

As a member of the BEAGLE ASF Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation’s safety, security, and prosperity. CBP agents and officers are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity.

Responsibilities:

Serve as an Agile Scrum team member providing UI/UX design and development for the delivery of releasable software in short sprint cycles. Responsible for activities associated with software projects by working in close collaboration with business analysts, software developers/engineers, stakeholders, and end users within Agile processes. Responsible for:

Conceptualizing and designing custom software application capabilities for a variety of legacy and modernized systems with limited oversight.Lead the design of a cohesive look-and-feel and standardized user experience across the applications.Taking a leadership role in collaborations between the creative strategy, UX, visual design, development team, and client to create effective design strategies.Developing compelling, creative, and user-focused experiences and points of view that align with clients’ business objectivesCollaborating with cross discipline team to create and execute experience style guides, interaction patterns, and information design standardsDevelop wireframes, mockups, and/or prototypes supporting design ideas and effectively communicate ideas to various stakeholders.Establish standard layout and style libraries across applications.Work closely the functional team to determine feasibility of requirements and collaborate on design ideas and improvements.Ensuring product quality and timeliness of work, providing advice and guidance, resolving problems to meet objectives, and providing periodic performance reportsProviding mentoring to junior members of the team




Qualifications:

Required: 

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, criteria include but is not limited to:3 year check for felony convictions1 year check for illegal drug use1 year check for misconduct such as theft or fraudDegree in a related field, such as Interactive Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Graphic Design or Human Factors and seven (7) years of related experienceExperience working collaboratively to communicate effectively through websites and web applications that are easy for real people to use and responsive across all device viewportsProfessional experience with enterprise UI design tools such as Figma (preferred), Axure, or similar toolsProfessional experience communicating designs with stakeholders such as product owners, end users, development teams, and managementKnowledge of modern front-end systems and open source frameworks (Angular)Ensure applications are intuitive, effective, and deliver the customer value defined by program managementMove design projects through the product design process, including discovery, concept, detailed design and implementation, facilitating progress at each stageUse your passion for solving tough user challenges through great design.Influence design and experience across all applications to ensure a valuable and consistent customer experience.Experience defining design systems and design standards for enterprise useEstablish and champion UX design vision, standards, and best practices to peers and program leaders that align with program goals.Collaborate effectively with stakeholders inside the company and with customer groups to drive effective solutions.Design, visualize and communicate the user experience for our products through concepts, maps, diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity visuals and other artifactsUse data, validation, and feedback strategies that deliver designs backed by qualitative and quantities testing.Experience with responsive and mobile-first designHave experience designing applications, from consumer facing to internal toolsMaintain a user-centered approach while respecting business needsWorking knowledge of and ability to assist others in the use of design tools to support process improvement (Figma, Axure, Sketch, Invision, XD, etc)



Desired:

Design Thinking certifications such as those offered through IDEO, Stanford, Cornell, MIT or a host of other organizations.Proven experience designing for web accessibility (Section 508 standards)Experience with information architecture.Ability and interest in educating others on user-centered design best practicesAdvanced understanding of Lean processes, and Agile principlesAbility to apply advanced principles, theories, and concepts, and contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideasAdditionally, familiarity with any of the following is highly desirable: HTML, Angular, CSS, JavaScript

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$103,800 - $218,100
