About Cadia


Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method. 


We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, traditional custodians of the land surrounding Cadia, and proudly run an Indigenous Buddy Program to enrich the workplace experience our Indigenous employees. Who we’re looking for

 

We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Nipper to support our underground mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing essential assistance to the mining crew, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of mining activities. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards.

 

Key deliverables include, but are not limited to:

 

Assisting operators in underground development mining, installation work and any other tasks delegated to you by the UG Shift Supervisor.Promote and maintain a culture of ‘safe production’ by compliance with company safety systems, policies, procedures and accountabilities. I.e. FCCCs, JSEA, Prestart inspections, hazcards and audits.Ensure all incidents, near miss and hazards are reported to Shift Supervisor.

 

To be considered applicants require the following skills and experience:

 

Proven track record in promoting and managing safety in the workplaceSound knowledge of underground Metalliferous mining (desirable)Willingness to take ownership of issues associated with your roleManual C Class Driver's License is requiredWorking at Heights ticket to be obtained prior to commencement

 

All successful applicants will be required to undertake mandatory police, working rights, qualification (if applicable) and medical checks.

Please note:  This is a residential role. You will be required to work a 7 days on/7 off/7 nights on/7 off roster (12-hours per day, Thursday – Wednesday).
