The UCLA Music Performance, Composition and Education Department invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in choral music for the 2025–26 academic year. Salary commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with courses assigned.
Responsibilities may include the following: programming for and conducting the UCLA Chorale (an ensemble comprising both performance and non-majors, usually between 70 and 100 singers, that meets Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 5:00 p.m. – 6:50 p.m.) and supervision of choral teaching assistants assigned to the ensemble; courses in choral music education, diction, literature, and/or vocal pedagogy; individual instruction and recital preparation of graduate choral conductors; and participation in departmental auditions and juries.
Applicants should have at least four years of experience teaching, conducting, and administering an advanced choral program; expertise and experience in the principles of vocal pedagogy; and knowledge of broad repertoires for choral ensembles and classical voice. A post-baccalaureate degree is preferred.
