The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music’s Department of Ethnomusicology invites applications for a part-time lecturer position in Music and Media for the Fall quarter of the 2025-26 academic year as a sabbatical replacement. Salary commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with teaching load.

Responsibilities will include assigned undergraduate ethnomusicology courses and supervision of graduate student teaching assistants.

Applicants should have an established regional, national, and/or international reputation as a music scholar with expertise and experience in the exploration of ways music is mediated to people by industry, technologies, and corporations. Survey of leading theorists of media and exploration of case studies. University teaching experience preferred. A PhD in ethnomusicology or related field is required.
