Your mission, roles and responsibilities

UAP Manager function

The role of a UAP Manager is to efficiently manage the UAP,  implement the FES and FCP within the production and use all resources in the most efficient way. 
•    Manage the project and the production.
•    Coordinates all activities regarding production planning, receiving of materials, production processing, supplying, maintenance and technology in working operations/sections in order to achieve quantity and quality of produced volumes which meet the plant targets and customer demands. 
•    Regularly checks and coordinates achieving or required quality and S/R standards.
•    Manage the budget of the UAP and all relevant costs, focus on cost reduction and efficiency.
•    Secures that relevant norms are respected and required maintenance and reparation are done. 
•    Ensures the continuous production and co-ordination with linked departments.

People Management 

•    Leading by example in terms of rigor and discipline, assure daily management and development of subordinates 
•    Close management of production through presence on the shopfloor and daily management of the supervisors
•    Strict control of headcount on a daily basis 
•    Coach supervisors in how to perform their role
•    Support and help to solve problems
•    Ensure discipline and rigor 
•    Ensure the respect of safety instructions, policies and procedures
•    Coach Supervisors on how to better solve problems and how to devote 70% of their time to improvement actions
•    Define staffing needs for UAP
•    Participate to selection and recruitment of staff
•    Ensure proper induction of newcomers
•    Define training plan to increase team autonomy; ensure training and coaching of team members
•    Manage annual performance interviews for all direct reports
•    Plan development of the people : training, job evolution
•    Define the UAP strategy in term of polyvalence 
•    Ensure recognition upon individual performance: propose promotion and merit increase; take part of the decision process 
•    Ensure proper flow of information to and from direct reports: top 5, regular information meetings, rapid cascade of critical information and of messages from management

Health safety, fire protection and environmental protection (HSE):

Ensure compliance with safety rules, fire protection and environmental protection
In the case of danger to life or serious damage to employees' health immediately stop the machine
Core control the activities of HSE management system and implementation of the corrective measures
Drive improvements in working conditions and ergonomics in the workplace
Implementation secure and maintain the system in the range of HSE legal requirements and ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
Provide training subordinates
Participate in the implementation of the objectives and policies respecting HSE

Organization 

•    Line manager of several supervisors, the size of the UAP must not exceed a total number of 200 people
 

Your profile and competencies to succeed

Education
•    Technical secondary school, optimum is a technical university degree 

Professional experience (years and area of experience)
•    Minimum 5 years of professional experience in production and relevant technical area
•    Minimum 3 years of experience as a manager or supervisor
•    Automotive industry experience as an advantage

Professional knowledge 
•    Knowledge of quality assurance norms and systems (QS 9000, VDA 6.1, FMEA)
•    Understanding of the interconnection between production and finance
•    Experience in technologies and production preparation

Skills (e.g. communication skills, presentation skills, negotiation skills, management skills, result orientation etc.)
•    Excellent communciation (both written and spoken) and interpersonal skills 
•    Ability to “sell” the ideas and convince, presentation skills 
•    Organization and coordination skills
•    Analytical and systematic thinking, planning skills
•    Proactivity, drive, hign commitment and energy, leadership
•    Management skills, result orientation
•    Reliability
•    Willingness to further development, flexibility
•    Stress resistant

Language knowledge level (e.g.fluent for daily communication on a proffesional level, intermidiate for internal communication, basic communication within the team, technical terminology knowledge, as an advantage but not necessary) 
•    English – fluent for daily communication on a profesional level                       
•    German/ French – as an advantage 

PC skills
•    MS Office (Excell, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
