Program Summary
KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.
Job Summary
Plans, develops, and implements department policy. Directs and coordinates department operations. Reviews and develops departmental training. Coordinates departmental budget. Develops, maintains, and produces emergency operations plans for the department. Maintains contact with local community agencies. Plans and directs operations during training and emergencies. Plans, develops and implements an overall company long-term strategic plan involving fire protection. Formulates mission plans involving fire protection.
Roles and Responsibilities
+ Plan, organize, develop plans/policies, and oversee the activities of the Fire Protection Flight.
+ Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
+ Manages fire prevention and protection plans and programs. Shall assume command at crashes, fire, or emergency situations, directing activities and personnel, transmitting instructions to Assistant Chiefs on the scene or other personnel as to the procedures to be followed contingent on complexity of the incident.
+ Determines needs, budgets for, and recommends acquisition of additional and or different fire protection, firefighting, and specialized rescue equipment, contract services, formal training etc.
+ Represents the Fire Protection Flight with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
+ Complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.
+ Must participate in a mandatory physical fitness program.
+ Required to use all safety equipment and clothing provided by management & to enforce wear of PPE.
+ This position requires the employee to wear a uniform.
+ This position requires the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions and falls under the respiratory protection program and hearing conservation program.
+ The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle.
+ This position requires an annual physical.
+ Ability to maintain current CPR.
Basic Qualifications
+ US Citizen.
+ Valid driver’s license.
+ U.S. Secret Clearance required or able to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance.
+ Associate’s degree or higher in Fire Technology.
+ 5 years’ experience as Fire Chief or Deputy Chief.
+ 15 years’ experience with ARFF/Structural, Haz-mat, medical emergencies and confined space rescue firefighting experience in an organized fire protection function that provides fire suppression services.
+ Experience directing firefighting operations to include fighting aircraft and structural fires, performing rescue services, and responding to hazardous materials incidents, medical emergencies, and confined space rescues.
+ Knowledge of the chemistry of fire, preventive maintenance and operations of firefighting and rescue equipment, physical and chemical properties of combustible materials and building structures and their component systems.
+ Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
+ Ability to meet position certifications in accordance with IAW DOD 6055.06-M:
+ Hazardous Materials Incident Commander
+ Fire Officer IV
+ Fire Instructor II
+ Fire Inspector II
Preferred Qualifications
+ On Scene Commanders’ Course
+ ICS 300 & 400
+ Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
