Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Process Assessor to join its team within the Mission Systems Organization. This position is located in Linthicum, Maryland.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Determine overall product compliance by performing process/product evaluations via process monitoring and/or auditing for capability and control. Perform all process/product inspections of purchased/manufactured components/assemblies for development and production programs.
1. Implement the standards contained in the Northrop Grumman "Standards of Business Conduct and Defense Industry Initiatives". Insure that all employees reporting to this position have been informed about the standards and related policies and enforce them within this supervised activity.
2. Demonstrate the ability to select and apply statistical process control techniques and train others how to use them when necessary.
3. Determine that work instructions and process controls for equipment and operators are adequate for producing compliant products.
4. Create and provide continuous feedback visibility to process owners regarding process/product evaluations.
5. Independently develop and execute process assessments and product evaluations.
6. Develop/execute audit schedule for process/product areas focused on determining product/procedural compliance.
7. Determine and use correct tool(s) essential for completing product evaluations.
8. Inspect purchased and manufactured products for workmanship and drawing compliance. Determine inspection frequency predicated on process stability, operator certification and product complexity. Clearly describe and record noncompliance conditions as necessary.
9. Review test data for pass/fail indication, verify configuration and that associated test documentation is correct.
10. Lead activities targeting noncompliance resolution, root cause analysis, corrective/prevention actions, including implementation.
11. Demonstrate proficiency with computer resources in obtaining information, updating and interacting with network databases. Analyze data using network software.
12. Interface with customers acting as primary contact for process/product acceptance.
This is an IBEW Union represented position.
Education Requirement:
High School or recognized equivalent. Certified ASQ-Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or comparable certification program or have successfully completed accredited (3 credit) college courses in each of the following areas: Quality Concepts in Manufacturing (typical course content includes quality practices, continuous improvement, statistical process control, auditing, etc.); Shop Math - including Trigonometry, Geometry and Introductory Algebra; Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5; and part Measurement and Gauging Techniques.
Experience Requirement:
*Three-five years prior industrial experience in a technology environment involving microelectronic, aerospace electronic fabrication and assembly *Able to function in a team role as demonstrated in written and interview screens
*Perform in a multi-disciplined IPT (team) environment, determining priorities and offering solutions to diversified requirements.
