The US Payroll Manager is a newly established position and will have the unique opportunity to develop high performing payroll processes at the new US global headquarters in Troy, Michigan for a new public company to be spun out from Aptiv in 2026.
YOUR ROLE
Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, maintain compliance with payroll regulations and provide support to the Human Resources and Finance Departments.Actively participate in the implementation of the ADP Workforce Now (WFN) platform and establish payroll operating process and procedures for the US legal entitiesOversee and manage the payroll process ensuring accurate calculation and deduction of taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other payroll deductionsManage semi-monthly payroll for approximately 350 salaried employees across 11 states and monthly payroll for several expats and inpatsImplement and maintain payroll policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Maintain a strong internal control environment.Manage and maintain the ADP WFN payroll system, including software updates, user access, and system configurationsRespond to payroll inquiries from employees, resolve discrepancies, and provide payroll related guidanceReconcile payroll data with general ledger accounts and resolve discrepanciesEnter and process stock-based compensation transactionsMaintain accurate records and documentation for payroll audits and compliance purposesEnsure compliance with payroll tax filing requirements, including quarterly and annual tax returnsCollaborate with Human Resources, Finance, and other departments to support business needsYOUR BACKGROUND
Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related fieldMinimum of 7 years of experience with payroll management (for at least 300 employees)Minimum of 7 years of experience in multi-state payrollMinimum of 5 years of experience with ADP Workforce NowLocal resident of the metro Detroit area with ability to work on site dailyExperience with multi-company FEINsExperience processing expat and inpat payrollsAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive informationAttention to detail and accuracyKnowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practicesFamiliarity with Workday HRISMicrosoft Office Excel ProficiencyAnalytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsCommunicate effectively in writing and orallyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamLegally able to work in the U.S. without requirement for any type of visa sponsorship/transfer now, or at any time in the future.YOUR BENEFITS AT APTIV:
