Global Relay is an innovative business and this extends to its approach in developing highly engaging and informative content services for its prospects, customers, partners and employees.
Global Relay Intelligence & Practice, or GRIP, was launched in early 2023, is a product in its own right and will be a new revenue line in 2025.
GRIP functions with a high degree of editorial autonomy, has its own team and identity, and, being fully supported by Global Relay and its founder, is not held back by the usual foundational obstructions that start-ups have to put in place such as resource, infrastructure, capital and premises.
GRIP delivers a modern and practical streamed content service that focuses on informing the C-suite on essential developments, news, and intelligence to enable them to conduct their roles with speed, confidence and precision.
The GRIP founding team has considerable experience in this area and has a strong track-record in meeting its business objectives.
Your role:
You will be responsible for editing our content to ensure that it meets both our editorial standards as well as the expectations of a sophisticated and demanding global professional audience.
This key role will involve managing the US publication schedule, working with the writers, GRIP Managing Editor and Production Manager to ensure a seamless flow of information that characterizes our service.
You will assist the Content Manager-US and GRIP Managing Editor in implementing editorial priorities and will also help identify, develop and manage key content projects. And you will apply your skills and experience to help shape our content strategy.
Beyond your editorial duties you will support the Content Manager-US in the governance of all US operations and, time permitting, will be able to contribute to content creation.
This role reports to the Content Manager-US and is based in NYC.
Your responsibilities:
Edit content to ensure that it meets the high standards expected by GRIP’s sophisticated and demanding professional audience. Exercise editorial judgment and subject matter expertise to add value to the content produced by GRIP writers – improving it as necessary without compromising the author’s original tone of voice or the thrust of their narrative. Help colleagues evaluate and prioritize story ideas and guide and coach content creators. Oversee the publication of GRIP US content, including appropriate scheduling in coordination with the UK Managing Editor. Taxonomize and interlink content to enrich its presentation and maintain a close relationship between content and GRIP’s rules navigator. Time and skill permitting, write timely, informative and insightful articles on ongoing developments in the key areas covered by GRIP (compliance, regulation and technology). Develop leads and contacts and maintain close relationships with our professional community. Help staff in the New York office in preparing for and conducting events for clients and prospects. Assist US Content Manager with all ongoing projects, including any client focused or facing work with the product and sales teams. Adhere to GR policy and legal and contractual guidelines.About you:
At least 5 years of experience in an editorial position Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline Experience in compliance, regulation or law strongly preferred Outstanding editorial judgement Demonstrable ability to improve content organization and presentation Experience in operating a CMS and deep editorial process expertise Knowledge and good understanding of the financial ecosystem A talent for spotting developing trends and helping writers turn these into story ideas Experience in helping to generate content that differentiates a publication Affinity for technology, systems and processes Good grasp of taxonomies and ontologies and their role in content dissemination Excellent research and writing capabilities Outstanding attention to detail Logical thinker with excellent organizational skills Principled, ethical approach to reporting and pride in one’s work High levels of motivation and energyCompensation:
Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with applicable pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background.
The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values. We aim to foster an inspiring work environment and support employees' work-life rhythms. We provide a comprehensive health benefits program, including extended health coverage and short-term / long-term disability insurance. Employees receive annual allotted vacation days, which increase based on tenure. New York - Base Salary Range:$70,000—$120,000 USDWhat you can expect:
