Several outstanding opportunities have arisen for a number of Team Member roles, reporting to a Production Leader on our Washington Campus.
Our site at Washington, Tyne and Wear, makes high-precision discs that hold fan blades and turbine blades in place while powering Rolls-Royce engines, including the Trent XWB the world’s most efficient large engine in service today.
The site is divided into two facilities, Washington Manufacturing Facility making discs at a high volume for Trent engines and the Fleet Support Facility, a dedicated building designed for work on discs for specific civil and defence aero engines such as the Trent 500, Trent 800 and other projects.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.
The normal working hours for this position is 40 hours per week. The site currently works a 24/5 rotating shift pattern over three shifts (all covering a rotation of 12 hours, morning/afternoon/nights).
What you will be doing:
In this exciting role, you will perform Manufacturing/Operational tasks consistent with the requirements of the team, statutory and company standards (e.g. Health, Safety, Environment, Rolls-Royce Quality Management System, Rolls-Royce Production System) including the manufacture and assembly of components and sub-assemblies, as well as:
Participate in process improvement activities and compliance methodologies in order to satisfy customer needs and cost reduction targets. This may include elements of factory set up and workstation design.Follow production plans in order to meet customer requirements.Participate in cost reduction/operational improvements in order to satisfy customer needsContribute to achievement of cell performance targets.Recognise and perform asset maintenance activities in order to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to a high performance standard.Work with other team members to deliver team objectives and requirements, including knowledge sharing and training others.Who we’re looking for:

To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following criteria:
Must have completed an advanced modern engineering apprenticeship* including an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification.Experience in one or more of the following processes: Machining, Balance, De-burr, Broach, Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM), GrindA willingness to learn and adapt across a range of product types, processes, machines, and technologies.Strong process management skills and ability to comply with operating procedures and apply lessons learned to improvement activities.Experience of working in a team environment that requires effective relationship building and training of work colleagues.*Please attach a copy of your certificate as proof of completing a recognised apprenticeship together with/next to your CV.
