Tubing Conveyed Perforating (TCP) Specialist

The Tubing Conveyed Perforating (TCP) Specialist is responsible for the planning, execution, and supervision of TCP operations in oil and gas wells. This role requires technical expertise in downhole tool deployment, pressure control, safety, and operational efficiency during well completions or workovers. The TCP Specialist plays a key role in ensuring successful perforating runs using tubing-deployed systems, particularly in high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) or deviated wells.

5+ years of experience in TCP operations or well completions.Strong knowledge of perforating systems, downhole tools, and pressure control equipment.Valid certifications: Well Control (IWCF/IADC), H2S Alive, First Aid, and Explosives Handling.Familiarity with HPHT wells, horizontal completions, or offshore TCP systems is a strong asset.Ability to read and interpret completion programs, well schematics, and pressure charts.Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams under remote or high-pressure conditions.Physically capable of lifting and working with heavy tools; ability to travel frequently and work in remote locations or on offshore rigs.

Plan, prepare, and execute TCP operations in accordance with client specifications and safety standards.Assemble, test, and inspect TCP toolstrings, including firing heads, guns, and pressure control equipment.Conduct pre-job risk assessments, equipment checks, and safety meetings.Coordinate logistics and tool preparation with surface and downhole teams, including wireline, slickline, or coiled tubing crews when applicable.Monitor and control downhole operations using pressure and depth readings; ensure real-time problem-solving during perforating runs.Interface with wellsite supervisors, engineers, and company representatives to ensure job expectations are met.Maintain proper documentation of job reports, tool usage, explosives inventory, and operational logs.Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and recommend corrective actions on location or for future jobs.Ensure compliance with explosives handling and transportation regulations (e.g., DOT, ATF, or equivalent depending on jurisdiction).
