The Tube Mill Operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, changing over, operating, and maintaining a tube mill to roll form and seam weld continuous tubing of various sizes, cutting it to specified lengths. This role involves equipment setup, material handling, welding, quality checks, troubleshooting, and minor maintenance while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Description
The Tube Mill Operator will perform a variety of mechanical and operational tasks to ensure efficient tube production. Duties include preparing equipment for various tube sizes, loading steel coils, welding joints, monitoring quality, and ensuring accurate cut lengths. The operator will also maintain coolant systems, document production activities, train junior operators, and adhere to all safety and quality standards.

Whether your journey with us lasts two days or two years, we value your contribution.What You Will DoSet up and adjust the tube mill for various sizes and specifications.Remove and replace rolls, assemble bearing blocks, and adjust cutoff dies.Load steel coils using an overhead electric hoist and align for production.Shear and prepare coil ends, perform free-hand MIG welding to join coils, and grind weld seams.Operate the mill to roll form and seam weld tubing continuously.Set automatic cut-off equipment for required lengths and verify accuracy.Monitor and adjust welding stations to maintain quality.Prepare and maintain production logs, tags, and downtime reports.Perform minor maintenance and change damaged rolls when needed.Operate a forklift to transport coils and finished products.Train and assist lower-level operators.Follow all safety rules and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Work Experience
What You'll Bring as a Preferred Candidate:
Previous machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment.Ability to read and use a measuring tape accurately.Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Experience with mechanical setup and adjustments on production equipment.Ability to read and follow production schedules and documentation.Proficient in using tools such as vernier calipers, hydraulic shears, MIG welders, grinders, and forklifts.Basic welding skills and understanding of welding processes.Ability to lift, move, and position heavy materials with equipment assistance.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.Basic maintenance skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment.We don't hire temps, we hire TEAMMATES!
