May supervise research and student assistants. **Requisition ID:** 41719BR **Travel Required:** None **Major/Essential Functions:** The Parenting and Early Development (PEDs) lab, directed by Dr. Savannah Girod in the Department of Human Development and Family Sciences at Texas Tech University is seeking a full-time lab manager/research assistant. The lab manager will work closely with Dr. Savannah Girod, and responsibilities will include coordinating research projects, participant recruitment, data collection, and supervising research and student assistants. The PEDs lab uses a multimethod approach (questionnaires, observations, psychophysiology) to examine prenatal and postnatal biopsychosocial predictors of early caregiving. The lab also includes a focus on understanding the dynamic parent-child processes that explain how parenting and parent characteristics shape children's social, emotional, and health outcomes during infancy and early childhood. + A lead role in participant recruitment and scheduling visits. Will also be responsible for conducting laboratory visits with pregnant people and infants during which observational and physiological (saliva, RSA, EDA, impedance) data will be collected. + Assisting the Pl with IRB protocol creation and compliance, budget and expenses for internal and external grants, community outreach, and implementation of research studies. + Overseeing general lab operations, including coordinating and training undergraduate and graduate research assistants. + Depending on level of interest, there is the opportunity to be involved in data cleaning and scoring (behavior and psychophysiological), data analysis, and conference/manuscript development. **Grant Funded?:** No **Minimum Hire Rate:** 15.80 **Pay Basis:** Hourly **Work Location:** Lubbock **Preferred Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in human development and family sciences, psychology, or a related field. + Prior research experience working with pregnant people, infants, or young children. + Prior experience conducting psychophysiological research. + Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. + Motivated, detail-oriented, efficient, and able to work independently. + Ability to work with people in a respectful, approachable, and team-oriented manner. + Ability to sometimes work nonstandard hours (e.g., evenings no later than 6pm, weekends), + depending on participant availability. + Proficient in Microsoft Office.applications. + Experience with Qualtrics or Redcap. **Department:** Human Develop and Family Studies **Required Attachments:** Cover Letter, Professional/Personal References, Resume / CV **Job Type:** Full Time **Job Group:** Research Technicians **Occasional Duties:** Responsibilities will occasionally include having to work nonstandard hours (e.g., evenings no later than 6pm, weekends), depending on participant availability. **Shift:** Day **Required Qualifications:** Bachelor's degree in a specialized field and one year research experience.
