Job description

We are looking for an experienced Software Catalog Manager to join our team and support the organization, maintenance, and optimization of our software portfolio. This role is crucial in ensuring our software catalog remains well-organized, up-to-date, and easily accessible to stakeholders.

You’ll join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, program managers, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across Technology Sourcing and Infrastructure (TSI) to help us deliver the highest standards, ensuring that our customers have the tools they need to perform their jobs. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

About The Role
As an TSI Software Catalogue Manager, you will use your skills to support TSI developing the internal tools and software catalogs.

Key job responsibilities

Manage and maintain a comprehensive software catalog, ensuring accurate documentation of all software assets. Develop and implement cataloging standards and best practices. Collaborate with development teams to track new software releases and updates. Monitor software lifecycle stages and manage version control. Create and maintain metadata for software products and components. Coordinate with procurement and licensing teams to ensure compliance. Generate regular reports on software inventory and usage metrics. Identify opportunities for catalog optimization and process improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software catalogue issues. Provide escalation support for challenging software catalogues technical problems. Create and maintain technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles related to software catalogues. Stay current with software catalogue emerging technologies and industry best practices, proposing innovative solutions to enhance TSI operations.


A day in the life
As a software catalogue manager, you will resolve incidents, tasks, and requests using out internal ticketing tools and systems. You may have opportunities to work with the teams Engineers on change management procedures.

A typical day for a Software Catalog Manager begins with reviewing overnight system notifications about software updates and releases. The morning is filled with team stand-up meetings, processing new software submissions to the catalog, and collaborating with the procurement team on licensing and compliance matters. These activities require meticulous attention to detail in validating documentation, checking metadata accuracy, and ensuring compliance with cataloging standards.

Additionally, you will generate and analyze weekly reports on various metrics, working closely with IT teams to update documentation and resolve cataloging issues, and focusing on catalog optimization projects. These projects include implementing metadata improvements, updating categorization systems, and enhancing search functionality.

Basic qualifications

Advanced student of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 1+ years of experience as a software catalogue manager in a multi-user high availability environment. Demonstrated capacity for effective, clear, and professional written and verbal communication in English and Spanish. Strong customer service orientation. Demonstrated capacity to work in an ambiguous, dynamic, fast-paced environment. Advanced MS Excel knowledge.

 

Preferred qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle. Excellent organizational and documentation skills. Experience with software asset management tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience with enterprise software catalog management systems. Knowledge of software licensing and compliance requirements. Project management certification. Experience with agile methodologies. Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen principles.
