Job Description A client of Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Cloud Operations Engineer with deep expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD/VDI) and data migration to support a secure Department of Defense (DoD) environment. This hybrid role, based in Arlington, VA, is primarily hands-on engineering with opportunities to contribute to broader architectural decisions. The engineer will work with the latest version of Azure Virtual Desktop (1.0.10159.600) and focus on deploying scalable, secure cloud infrastructure using Azure-native services, Terraform, and Kubernetes, with limited AWS involvement (currently ~5%). A key responsibility includes initiating and documenting the data migration process from legacy on-premises systems to the cloud. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cloud operations, VDI provisioning and optimization, and network security, along with a solid understanding of Zero Trust architecture and DoD cybersecurity standards.
