A local company that specializes in upfitting trucks to provide different lift solutions is looking for multiple service technicians. They build custom vehicles that are similar to construction equipment.
Description:
As a Shop Service Mechanic you will troubleshoot and diagnose problems on various types of heavy equipment and make necessary repairs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Troubleshoot problems on various pieces of equipment based on customer explanationDiagnose the problem using knowledge of hydraulics and electronics repairOperate hand tools & equipmentInitiate ordering of necessary parts to make the repairsCheck that all functions are correctCheck for leaks and loose fittingsCheck that tolerances and torque specs are correctTest pressures and record them on the test sheetCommunicate with supervisor when there are problems on a jobMake recommendations for changes in procedure or job functions that are considered to be in the general interestPerform other job-related duties assigned by managementAdditional Skills & Qualifications
Strong mechanical aptitude – technical understanding of hydraulics, electrical and primary functions of a broad range of equipment used in our industryKnowledge of basic hydraulics and 12-volt electrical systemsKnowledge of wiring stop/start systems and ability to use programmerKnowledge of sizes of fittings and hydraulic hosesAble to operate saw for cutting steelAble to operate plasma cutterAble to use oxygen/acetylene torchAbility to adjust pressures and reliefsBasic math skillsAbility to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematicsAbility to work independentlyFollow-through to complete on-going projectsMechanical design and/or practical experience in hydraulics, structural or mechanical layoutHigh level of Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to understand fundamentals of mechanical systems as related to the commercial truck industryExperience being a mechanic in the heavy equipment industry strongly preferred.BENEFITS:

Shop Service Mechanics typically work Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
