Truck Freight Merchandiser and Rail Scheduler - Decatur, IL

This role is Wednesday through Sunday usually 8-4.  Remote Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

This role is responsible for all aspects of truck movements including, but not limited to: the implementation & execution of shipment plans, developing a network of carriers to support the needs of ADM’s Wheat Midds distribution, & negotiating carrier rates. In addition, this role will be responsible for weekend railcar billing duties for Ethanol and CoProducts & weekend truck logistics for Wheat Midds. This position will analyze rates and accessorial charges to ensure ADM is cost competitive in the market place.  The ideal candidate will work closely with the Wheat Midds team to learn and develop a distribution plan to support the market. The candidate must be highly organized, an effective communicator, quick thinker, harness strong problem solving skills, and the ability to manage conflict.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Daily scheduling and tracking of Wheat Midds truck deliveriesWork closely with wheat mills to ensure shipment plans align with mill’s needsDevelop and manage a carrier network to support ADM’s Distribution needsUnderstand the Wheat Midds distribution networkMaximize carrier efficiency and service along with rate economicsNegotiate freight rates with carriersManage carrier relations.Manage customer relationsGenerate solutions to Customer and/or Carrier supply chainManage contract ratability on all truck contractTracking, vetting and reporting of truck detention invoiced to ADMInvoicing of truck detention to ADM CustomersBOL trackingCommunicate market information from carriers and customersOrganize all carrier meetings and presentations.Travel to meet carriers, customers and terminals as necessaryTravel to trade organization events as necessaryAnalyze rates and accessorial charges to ensure that they are competitive.Ensure new rates are added to system.Ensure proper carrier codes are on all contractsWorks closely with Plant, terminals, carriers and customers on downtime and other disruptionsWork with trucking payables/carriers on outstanding accounting issuesHandles denaturant truck needs for the ADM plantsParticipate in Department MeetingsMonitors and reports the national fuel surchargeCreate individual goals and objectives and report progress.Track and report trends in carrier markets.Cross train on terminal scheduling to back up coworkersREQUIREMENTS:3-5 yrs of experience within ADM or industry preferredPrevious scheduling experience preferredMicrosoft OfficeADM order and invoicing systems – APGO, OPGO, FCGOADM Truck Rate SystemMaximo ExperienceDocument DirectExcited about this role but don’t think you meet every requirement listed?
