Truck Driver CWD
JOB FUNCTION: Collect and transport classified waste material within the Washington Metropolitan area. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Load, transport and unload material and drive trucks. • Pull material from collection areas. • Maintain security in all designated areas. • Perform appropriate vehicle inspections and report deficiencies. • Properly record weight and origin of classified waste. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Possess and maintain a Class B or higher Commercial Drivers License (CDL). • Able to obtain and maintain forklift certification. • Driving record must meet employer’s insurance carrier standards. • Able to perform and function within a confined space. • Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions. • A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings and nights, as well as, overtime, weekends, and holidays. EDUCATION: High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required. EXPERIENCE: Three (3) year experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Ability to write correspondence. • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. SECURITY: Must be a U.S. Citizen, possess and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbents may work in conditions that require operating industrial machinery/power tools and motor vehicles. Additionally, incumbents may participate in work that requires walking, bending, squatting, and carrying materials throughout the facility. Workplace conditions necessitate following strict safety guidelines and the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Work tasks requiring the incumbent to lift weight more than 50 pounds requires two or more persons.
