A JBS QA Supervisoroversees the quality and food safety aspects of production, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards, and manages a team of QA technicians. They are responsible for tasks such as monitoring product quality, conducting tests, maintaining records, and ensuring proper procedures are followed. They also play a key role in training, performance management, and maintaining a positive work environment for their team able to work long hours based on production demand. Responsibilities:Supervision and Management:.Leading and supervising a team of QA technicians, including training, performance management, and addressing performance issues. Quality Assurance:.Ensuring products meet established standards and specifications, conducting inspections and tests, and monitoring production processes. Food Safety:.Ensuring compliance with USDA regulations and other food safety standards, monitoring sanitation and hygiene practices, and implementing corrective actions as needed. Record Keeping:.Maintaining accurate records of quality tests, audits, and other relevant data. Communication:.Maintaining clear communication with QA, production, and USDA personnel, and reporting quality data to relevant stakeholders. Training:.Ensuring employees are properly trained on quality and food safety procedures, and conducting training sessions as needed. Continuous Improvement:.Identifying areas for improvement in quality and food safety processes and implementing solutions. Requirements:Experience:.Previous supervisory experience, and experience in a food manufacturing environment (preferably poultry or beef processing). Knowledge:.Understanding of USDA and OSHA regulations, quality assurance principles, and food safety procedures. Skills:.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office suite). Education:.A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., food science, biology) may be preferred, but experience can be a significant factor. QualificationsEducation and Experience: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Food Science, Animal Science, etc.) or an Associate's degree with related experience. Prior supervisory experience, especially in a food manufacturing or poultry environment, is often required.Technical Skills: Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, USDA and OSHA regulations, HACCP plans, and quality management systems is crucial.
