If you live in a state bordering Minnesota, you must live within 50 miles or less from the primary work location to be eligible for telework._** **** Flexible work hours may be permitted with supervisor approval.** The American Indian Substance Use Disorder (AI SUD) Policy liaison exists to provide leadership, direction, and coordination for all phases of culturally specific grants and contracts processes, with a focus on substance use disorder treatment and prevention initiatives across multiple program lines. This position will partner on targeted activities, projects and outcomes with the SUD Clinical Policy Team and other Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) staff, staff from other Department of Human Services (DHS) divisions and other state agencies. The incumbent will be involved in providing technical assistance, consultation and be the tribal liaison for the SUD Clinical Policy Team, as American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Treatment services are increased within the Tribal Nations. This includes significant stakeholder engagement and program area expertise. The incumbent, reporting directly to the AI Team Supervisor, will report on various activities, projects, and outcomes to other supervisors and managers within the agency, division or department. The policy liaison will collaborate with internal teams, Tribal Nations, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure culturally specific needs are met effectively and provide technical assistance to grantees. **Some responsibilities include, but not limited to:** + Provide direction and oversight to BHA’s SUD policy and services to Tribes and American Indian organizations across the state. + ASAM Tribal Liaison and Community Engagement + Coordinate the collection and tracking of Tribally licensed SUD providers. + Grant and Contract Management. **Minimum Qualifications** **_To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held._** Three (3) years of highly skilled experience providing technical assistance focusing on substance use disorder treatment and prevention for American Indians. Experience must demonstrate: + Knowledge of culturally specific invention models related to substance use disorder health services treatment services. + Familiarity with the grant and/or contract process. + Proficient at integrating cultural appropriateness in developing substance abuse treatment policies and procedures. + Lived experience in an urban American Indian community impacted by housing and mental health delivery services or experience working with American Indian communities providing supportive services. + Providing technical assistance and/or trainings to support programs and services. **_*Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, or another related fields may substitute for one (1) year of work experience._** **_**Master’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, or another related fields may substitute for two (2) years of work experience._** **Preferred Qualifications** + Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures. + Understanding of Minnesota Health Care Programs to include Medical Assistance, General Assistance Medicare and Minnesota Care. + Trained at facilitating group dynamics and coalition building to reach a consensus. + Experience working with local tribes and/or American Indian Organizations and Programs. + Actively involved in the American Indian’s communities. + Strong human relations and communication skills; communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing; respond openly to requests and concerns. + Ability to give presentations and to facilitate discussions to guide, solicit and explore diverse perspectives. **Additional Requirements** + MinnesotaDepartmentofHumanServices (DHS)criminalbackgroundcheckwillbeconductedonallfinalists forthisposition.Finalistsmustpassthe DHS backgroundcheck. + Employee reference checks will be conducted on all finalists.
