Job Description:

As a Treasury Consultant at Southwest Airlines, you’ll play a vital role in shaping our financial strategy by delivering impactful analysis and reporting on cash and investment portfolios to inform Senior Leadership, managing our foreign exchange (FX) program with a focus on smart, effective hedging strategies, and supporting daily treasury operations - from cash positioning to investment compliance. Responsibilities

Provide assistance/backup support for daily cash position, investments/ policy compliance, and make recommendations for investment alternatives

Design, develop and test new technology functionality, participate in new implementations, manage software upgrades and lead user acceptance testing

Collaborate closely with internal departments to implement new procedures and resolve issues associated with Treasury transactions

Build and maintain relationships with the Company’s counterparties relevant to the job function

Assist in developing and updating the Company's short-term cash flow planning function

Generate ideas for innovation and/or improvement on a wide array of topics, and lead analytical work in determining the feasibility of such ideas

Act on ad hoc requests for information or research in a timely manner; lead analytical teams in producing deliverables for Customers

Provide expertise on drivers that impact forecasting and the ability to investigate anomalies in the data

Cross-train on other Treasury functions to provide backup to the team as needed including but not limited to our capital market related activity

Identify and resolve incomplete and/or erroneous job-related data

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data

Knowledge of financial modeling, cash flow statement, income statement, and balance sheet

Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making

Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

Ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem

Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data including turning raw data into meaningful information

Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

Ability to uncover the root causes to resolve complex issues and problems and recommend corrective action

Knowledge of LAN and SaaS based applications (Tableau)

Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) systems, such as SAP, Workday, Essbase, Anaplan

Knowledge of third-party systems and the ability to implement new processes with limited problems or challenges (Clearwater Analytics, Bloomberg, Bank portals)

Education

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience

Required: Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:

Economic and Accounting Principles and Practices

Capital Markets

Finance

Banking

Perferred experience in:

Foreign Exchange

SAP

Essbase

Anaplan

Clearwater Analytics

Bloomberg

Licensing/Certification

N/A

Physical Abilities

Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time

Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications

Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information

Must have the flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends, and Company holidays

Pay & Benefits

Competitive market salary from $100,700 - $111,900 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
