Traveling Construction Project Manager
Job Title: Traveling Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a Traveling Project Manager who will be primarily onsite during the work week. Initial project locations include Upstate New York for a period of 10 months, transitioning to Massena, NY for a 12-month wastewater rehabilitation project. The role involves working predominantly across New York State, with potential assignments in the broader northeastern region. The schedule is typically Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work.

Responsibilities

Develop project scope of work in collaboration with engineering and business development teams.Plan construction work and manage budgeting and cost estimation.Qualify contractors and oversee the subcontractor and vendor bid process.Manage project financials and conduct construction administration duties.Support field operations by working closely with the onsite Construction Manager.Maintain effective communication between customers and project team members.Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality expectations.Ensure safety standards are met and maintain a healthy work environment.Oversee day-to-day operations from pre-construction through project completion and warranty periods.Create and manage schedules to ensure timely project delivery.Understand contract terms and conditions.Assist engineering team with scope development and cost budgeting/estimating.Create and maintain accurate projections of project costs.Coordinate with the Construction Manager and all subcontractors/suppliers.Purchase materials and equipment as needed.Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget, keeping the client informed.Handle construction administration tasks such as contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and project closeout.

Essential Skills

Experience in construction, wastewater, industrial projects, and project management.Ability to develop project scopes and manage costs effectively.Strong communication skills for maintaining client and team relationships.Understanding of contract terms and conditions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with safety standards in construction environments.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment

The position requires travel across New York State and potentially the northeastern region. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays. The role involves both onsite presence and collaboration with various teams to ensure project success.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $65.00/hr.
