Travel Analyst
**DESCRIPTION** **Job Summary** **Hybrid Role** The Travel Analyst is responsible for preparing travel reports and analysis to support department managers and entity leaders. The role supports the expense reporting process, corporate card administration, reconciliations, and customer inquiries, ensuring compliance with company travel policies and financial reporting standards. The position requires strong analytical, financial, and business partnering skills to provide insights that drive efficiency and alignment with organizational goals. **Key Responsibilities** + Prepare and deliver analysis and reports on travel, entertainment, and miscellaneous expenses for entity leaders. + Conduct except reporting to monitor compliance with company travel and expense policies. + Support the corporate card process, including issue resolution and customer inquiries. + Assist in the expense reporting process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to policy. + Conduct reconciliations related to travel expenses and provide insights for improvement. + Partner with internal stakeholders to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for efficiency in travel-related processes. + Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial standards, and audit requirements. + Provide guidance to business leaders by interpreting data, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and supporting decision-making. **RESPONSIBILITIES** **Competencies:** + **Audit Standards** – Applies audit standards to assess design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and communicates findings. + **Benefit Plan Vendor Management** – Evaluates outsourced services for compliance and alignment with company expectations. + **Business Partnering** – Builds effective partnerships to support decision-making and align performance with organizational goals. + **Business Process and Internal Control Risk Analysis** – Identifies risks, gaps, and opportunities in business processes and implements improvements. + **Financial Analysis** – Analyzes financial data, variances, and trends to provide insights for business improvement. + **Financial Internal Controls** – Assesses, develops, and implements remediation plans to mitigate financial reporting risks. + **Financial Planning and Forecasting** – Provides forward-looking projections to guide business decision-making. + **Financial Reporting** – Prepares and communicates accurate financial information in compliance with regulations. + **Systems Governance** – Ensures compliance with finance system controls and appropriate data security. + **Core Behavioral Competencies:** + Action Oriented + Communicates Effectively + Customer Focused + Manages Ambiguity + Manages Conflict + Values Differences **Education, Licenses, and Certifications** + College, university, or equivalent degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Skills and Experience** **For External Candidates:** + Minimal relevant professional work experience in finance, business administration, or a related field. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). + Strong analytical and presentation skills. + Ability to manage reconciliations effectively. **For Internal Candidates:** + Minimum 5 years’ experience in the travel industry. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong business analysis and presentation capabilities. + Demonstrated ability to manage reconciliations, travel processes, and stakeholder expectations. **Job** General Management **Organization** Cummins Inc. **Role Category** Remote **Job Type** Exempt - Experienced **ReqID** 2418423 **Relocation Package** No
