Course: Trauma-Informed Care
 

This course provides an introductory knowledge of trauma-informed care from foundational principles and historical context to practice implementation. The context of trauma is discussed including types of trauma and adverse outcomes related to various systems. It offers an overview of trauma-informed screening, assessment, and treatment. Information is provided on the risk of vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue for providers.

Facilitate classroom lecture and discussionsEngage students in learning course objectives and topicsAssess student performance and mentor success in the classroomProvide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
