St. Louis Children's is hiring for a Trauma I Coder. We are looking for applicants with coding and registry experience. Trauma registry knowledge is a plus.
This is a remote position.

**Preferred Qualifications**
**Role Purpose**
The Trauma Coder 1 works independently to extrapolate data from medical records for entry into the trauma registry according to regulatory guidelines. The Trauma Coder 1 assigns diagnosis and procedure codes according to ICD-10 CM/PCS and AAAM AIS coding guidelines and conventions and National Trauma Data Standards.
**Responsibilities**
+ Performs technical and miscellaneous procedures as assigned.
+ Accurately abstracts data elements as required.
+ Stays current of all changes in coding conventions, regulatory guidelines, code updates and BJC coding guidance.
+ Identifies patients who meet criteria for inclusion into the trauma registry.
+ Maintains the trauma registry and meets the appropriate productivity standards.
