Transportation Manager

We are recruiting for a **Transportation Manager** to play a key role in maintaining our company’s excellent reputation while leading transportation operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and employee development. We're looking for a motivated leader with a hands-on approach to team management, compliance, and customer service.
**Job Summary:**
As a Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing route schedules, customer deliveries, and driver performance. You will coach and train team members, ensure DOT compliance, manage fleet maintenance, and support the achievement of company safety and performance goals.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Motivate, coach, and lead employees to perform safely and efficiently.
+ Coordinate with HR on hiring, training, and employee development initiatives.
+ Monitor and manage transportation costs while meeting employee turnover goals.
+ Approve PTO requests and timecards; support KPI goals in alignment with the General Manager.
+ Ensure new hires are trained on company policies, objectives, and safety standards.
+ Ensure compliance with all DOT/FMCSA regulations and CDL operational standards.
+ Cover routes as needed and maintain up-to-date knowledge of all customer delivery routes.
+ Oversee random DOT drug screening processes and documentation.
+ Collaborate with customer service and production to address delivery concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.
+ Coordinate with leasing companies on vehicle repairs and maintenance.
+ Oversee transportation supply inventory and manage invoice approvals.
+ Manage fleet reporting and ensure timely submission of data and compliance reports.
+ Attend industry events, meetings, and plant visits to stay updated on best practices.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or Director of Transportation.
**Qualifications:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ 6 months to 1 year of supervisory experience in transportation/logistics.
+ Strong leadership and team training skills.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Effective conflict resolution and accountability skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
+ Clean MVR required; Class A CDL preferred.
+ Must meet all DOT and company compliance requirements (drug screen, physicals, certifications, etc.)
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Ability to push/pull carts weighing up to 800 lbs. (on wheels)
+ Lift up to 25 lbs. overhead
+ Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb stairs for up to 10 hours per day
+ Capable of repetitive arm motions
+ Available to drive nights and weekends
+ Must be able to speak and read English fluently

**Pay Details:** $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
