Objectives of the Position

 

This person will be responsible for transport operations for a country . The person will also take ownership of all transport management processes for BASF operations.

 

Main Tasks

 

Manage transport operation (inbound, outbound) for bulk and packaged with different modes of transportationEvaluate, monitor and improve the performance of 3rd party service providers, handle non-conformance service issues; participate and support 3rd party service provider selection;Optimize transportation processes based on market surveys and business feedback to meet customer and company requirementsCoordination and management of service provider for vehicle placementTracking delivery of products to customer (monitoring of in transit vehicles, shipments) Ensure transportation safetyEvaluate service provider performance on monthly basis in line with BASF standardsCoordination and management of order managementEnsuring timely delivery of goods to customerCoordination with EHS, insurance and service provider in a case of accidentsEnsuring utilization of dedicated vehiclesInsurance management (raising insurance claim and recovery) incl. management of recovery from service providers

 

Requirements

 

Graduate, PG Diploma or CPIM in Supply Chain is prefrred4 - 6 years experience in Supply ChainHands on experience in SAP (OTC/TM) processes would be added advantageExperience in Chemical industry preferredExtensive knowledge of transportation market working of 3PL service providers etc. requiredGood understanding of the products/services of relevant business segments and functions at sub-regional levelService excellence competenciesAct with Entrepreneurial DriveDevelop Self and OthersDemonstrate Customer FocusCollaborate for AchievementTeam WorkMarket AwarenessAttention to details
