Transportation Highways Group Leader

As a Transportation Highways Group Leader for our Engineering design group in our Greenwood Village and Denver offices at Jacobs, you'll be at the forefront of shaping sustainable and innovative transportation solutions. This role combines technical expertise with strategic leadership to drive our transportation practice forward.
In this role you’ll:
• Spearhead the development and execution of transportation projects across various scales and complexities
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the transportation team
• Serve as a technical authority and thought leader in transportation engineering
• Mentor and develop team members to build a high-performing, diverse workforce
• Work in the office three days per week to be available to team members
• Lead a large team of talented highway/roadway engineers
• Coordinate staffing with project managers and their project schedules
Strategic Responsibilities:
• Align transportation projects with Jacobs' sustainability and digital transformation initiatives
• Identify emerging market trends and position the team to capitalize on new opportunities and technologies
• Collaborate with other practice areas to deliver integrated solutions to complex transportation challenges
• Contribute to the development of company-wide transportation strategies and best practices
Technical Expertise:
• Deep understanding of multimodal transportation systems and their integration
• Proficiency in transportation planning, design, and traffic engineering principles
• Knowledge of smart mobility concepts and emerging transportation technologies
• Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and mitigation strategies for transportation projects
• Knowledge of multiple civil software programs

• Ability to inspire and motivate multidisciplinary teams
• Strong decision-making skills, especially under pressure
• Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment
This position will be posted for at least 3 days.
• Advanced degree in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
• Professional Engineering (PE) license
• 15+ years of progressive experience in transportation engineering and people management
• Demonstrated track record of successful project delivery and team leadership
