This individual will work independently on smaller projects, and as a team member on larger projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer. The position will include work on a variety of projects including traffic analysis, functional/concept planning & design, and active transportation planning & design. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated individual who is a self-starter, passionate about working with people and has a keen interest in Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering. **Your Key Responsibilities** + Complete Transportation Impact Assessments for a variety of small and large projects + Conduct and assist with traffic analysis using various software platforms (Synchro, SIDRA, VISSIM, etc.) + Functional and conceptual planning/design for urban and rural roadways + Planning and design of complete streets and active modes infrastructure + Writing and editing technical reports and engineering studies + Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams on major transportation projects + Develop and maintain relationships with clients including municipal/provincial agencies and private developers **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a team environment + Understanding and awareness of traffic analysis methodology and standards + Excellent written/verbal communication and strong people skills + Time-management skills; understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources. + Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including word, excel, PowerPoint, etc. + Experienced or familiar with traffic analysis software such as Synchro, SIDRA, HCM, VISSIM, etc. **Education and Experience** + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering + Registration as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer + Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in the field of transportation engineering + Experience in the Alberta market is an asset Position will primarily work in an office setting (with a hybrid work environment possible) and may require some occasional field work.
