Transportation Coordinator
Job Title: Transportation Coordinator Job Description This remote position involves coordinating and ensuring timely delivery of loads to meet customer demand. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including supply chain representatives, carriers, distribution centers, and production plants. The primary focus is on scheduling and tracking outbound/inbound loads to ensure on-time delivery and documenting delivery information accurately. Responsibilities + Follow up on loads to ensure on-time delivery or apply correct reason codes for delivery failures. + Track daily loads using FourKites and update the system with new delivery information. + Maintain carrier and customer relationships with consistent and professional communication. + Manage financial procedures and operating metrics, including detention management and cost control. + Contact carriers for load status and monitor shipments for on-time delivery. + Tender loads to carriers and ensure proper routing guide assignment. + Notify groups of product supply issues and work with relevant teams to resolve them. + Schedule appointments with shippers and receivers and update TMS/SAP/WMS as needed. + Consolidate customer orders into full truckloads when necessary. + Review and correct EDI 214 errors and manage customer returns. + Correspond with carriers regarding detention and accessorial information. + Manage on-time performance and fill rates through proper reason code application. + Request EDI setup for new carriers and lead training sessions for Carrier Contacts. Essential Skills + High School Diploma + 2 years of experience in Customer Service in a manufacturing or transportation environment + Proficiency in web-based systems such as SAP and Microsoft Excel + Multi-tasking and strong verbal and written communication skills Additional Skills & Qualifications + College education preferred + Transportation and/or logistics experience preferred + Experience in a tactical and fast-paced office environment + Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment + Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs Work Environment This is a remote position primarily supporting the WEST region. Candidates must be located near St. Louis, MO, Denver, CO, Crete, NE, Davenport, IA, Clinton, IA, or Flagstaff, AZ for training purposes. The role involves working in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams and requires a professional approach to internal and external customers. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with opportunities for continuous education in transportation and supply chain. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.32/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
