Transportation Coordinator Job Details Job Location Newport - 219 East Broadway - Newport, TN Position Type Full Time Education Level 2 Year Degree Salary Range $21.63 - $21.63 Hourly Description Position Summary: The Transportation Coordinator / Security Guard is part of the prevention team at WestCare TN plays a vital dual role in supporting the Mobile Health Hub’s operations. This position is responsible for maintaining and operating the Mobile Health Hub vehicle, ensuring safe and reliable transportation of staff, participants, and equipment. Additionally, the role involves providing security to safeguard staff, participants, and resources, creating a safe, welcoming environment for delivering essential health services to diverse communities.This position serves Cocke County only. Essential Job Functions: + Safely operate and maintain the Mobile Health Hub vehicle, ensuring it is clean, fueled, and in good working condition. + Coordinate transportation logistics, including scheduling routes and managing vehicle maintenance. + Monitor and enforce safety and security protocols to protect staff, participants, equipment, and the Mobile Health Hub during outreach events. + Serve as the primary security presence at Mobile Health Hub sites, addressing any safety concerns or incidents promptly and professionally. + Assist with set-up and breakdown of Mobile Health Hub equipment as needed. + Communicate effectively with program staff to coordinate schedules, address safety issues, and support event logistics. + Maintain accurate records related to vehicle usage, maintenance, and security incidents. + Foster a welcoming and respectful environment for all participants and staff. + Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation. + Collaborate with other WestCare Tennessee team members to promote and meet requirements. + Participate in + Will engage and complete the required WestCare Tennessee eLearning, and any other program related trainings. + Perform other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator/ Director Qualifications Essential Qualifications: + Associate’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Health Education, or related field is required. + Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not required. + Experience driving and maintaining vans, buses, or similar vehicles. + Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related roles preferred. + Strong interpersonal and communication skills. + Ability to remain calm and professional in potentially challenging situations. + Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures. + Ability to lift and move equipment as needed. + Commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment. Preferred: + First aid/CPR certification. + Experience working in community health or mobile outreach programs. Working Conditions: + Work is primarily performed in an office or indoor setting. + Some outdoor activities and travel willbe required. + Some travel will be required for training and conferences. + Regular and prompt attendance is required throughout employment. Essential Physical and Mental Demands of the Job The employee must be able to perform the following essential duties and activities with or without accommodation. Physical Demands: + Requires mobility and physical activity: Having an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in an office or outdoor environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), sitting for extended periods of time, bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds. Use of computer and telephone systems is required which includes coordination of eye and hand, and proper utilization by hand (typing, writing, and working with files). + Requires talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Talking is required to impart oral information to employees, the public, and in those activities in which the employee is required to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or promptly. + Requires hearing: Hearing is required to receive and communicate detailed information through oral communication. + Requires seeing: Clarity of vision including proper eyewear at 20 inches or less and at distance. + The normal work routine involves no exposure to human blood, body fluids or tissues. However, exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be readily available to every employee. Mental Demands : + Requires the ability to collect and analyze complex numerical and written data and verbal information to reach logical conclusions. + Requires the ability to work and cooperate with co-workers, managers and the public at all levels in order to exchange ideas, information, instructions and opinions.
