Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will plan and implement global sourcing strategies and initiatives, either under the guidance of a Category Sourcing Lead or independently, for your designated regional area. You will ensure that all sourcing activities comply with corporate purchasing policies and procedures. This position requires close collaboration with various business units.

You will lead sourcing events, manage supplier relationships and negotiations, and oversee nominations and implementation agreements with suppliers. Additionally, you will work to increase Transport Performance's visibility throughout the organisation. As a trusted subject matter expert on transportation, your expertise will be vital to success in this role.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Delivery added value to business by creating savings, avoiding costs, optimising transport operations, and enhancing customer satisfaction.Good knowledge in Transportation market of China for both domestic tracking and internationalCollaborate with the Category Sourcing Lead and Business to develop and implement sourcing strategies, providing advice and guidance for optimal approaches, tactics, and tools. Ensures all relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordingly.Manage the planning and tracking of sourcing activities, cost budgets, and savings forecasts. Minimize risk regarding quality and financial exposure.Implement ABB’s standardized sourcing process, which includes identifying business requirements, market trends, approaches, tactics, and supplier nominations while collaborating closely with stakeholders and focusing on quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.Negotiate framework agreements with suppliers and implement changes to them, coordinating with business and legal to meet local needs and comply with legislations.Negotiate local rates and service agreements with suppliers, and implement ABB's standard terms and conditions for these agreements according to group and business guidelines and policies.Conduct regular business reviews of suppliers to ensure that their strategies and performance are aligned with our goals. Support the business by managing escalations to ensure operational targets are met. Help establish performance metrics and oversee periodic review processes. Actively manage improvement initiatives as needed and support the Business Review process.Serve as the main point of contact for suppliers and stakeholders. Assist in resolving disputes and performance issues. Lead initiatives and implement them in collaboration with suppliers and key internal stakeholders to support business objectives. Help the team deliver market analysis and communication to local teams and organizations.Collaborating with the reporting team to ensure the quality and reliability of shipping data from suppliers.Provide support and expertise in developing sourcing standards, tools, and processes.

Qualifications for the role

Over 6 years of experience in sourcing within the transportation and logistics sector.Subject matter expert in transportation management, possessing domestics and regional market knowledge of service providers, strong understanding of current and emerging trends and world-class sourcing tools.Ability to lead the change with discipline and transparency, focusing on the key priorities to deliver results.Experienced in managing large-scale sourcing contracts and negotiations in the transportation field.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, evolving environment to achieve results. Skilled at influencing stakeholder groups to secure internal support.Proficient in building and developing strategically valuable supplier relationships while collaborating with key stakeholders to understand business needs and internal agendas.Analytical mindset focused on driving cost-saving and continuous improvement initiatives beyond sourcing scope.Personality traits include being results-oriented, driven, competitive, self-reliant, and an independent thinker. Constructive, assertive, and resilient when faced with obstacles that may hinder progress.Strong analytical skills are needed to conduct complex cost analysis.
