We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a **Transportation Analyst** **in Morton, IL.** The **Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD)** is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. We’re exploring new ideas and opportunities – **innovating** to discover the breakthroughs necessary for tomorrow’s growth. **Job Summary:** The **Transportation Analyst** is the technical expert for the Transportation Management systems used globally and across multiple transportation modes, with specific focus on project management for the Americas region. This person is responsible for ensuring that the technology solutions for the department are operational and meeting the needs of the organization. In this role, one is expected to identify and drive continuous improvement within the department while driving global standards to be used across the various transportation teams. **Additional Info** : + This position requires the candidate to **work a 5 day-a-week schedule in the Morton, IL office.** + **Relocation Offered:** None + **Sponsorship Offered:** None + **Travel:** Up to 10% (domestic and international) **What You Will Do:** + Demonstrate project management capabilities by leading complex teams on key and challenging initiatives through successful implementations and post implementations + Function as the expert of transportation systems and processes for regions including North America, Brazil, Europe, China, Japan, India, Australia, etc. + Ensure that the TM system (and supporting peripheral systems) are functioning effectively and supporting the operations, including TM dock scheduling + Function as the technical lead on new client or new project implementations + Work closely with the implementation team to ensure that the systems are configured appropriately for the specific customer requirements (with the pre-defined operational standards) + Analyze client and operational needs and make recommendations for developing, implementing, and/or improving, transportation services/operations + Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline processes, drive standard work, and eliminate waste + Map out systems processes and communicate them to end users + Troubleshoot and resolve systems issues + Initiate and follow through detailed and significantly complex job tasks in a timely manner with minimal instruction or review + Establish, train, and support internal users on the various systems **What You Have (Required Skills):** + **Process Management** : Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes. + **Analytical Thinking** : Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. + **Decision Making and Critical Thinking** : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. + **Problem Solving** : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. + **Relationship Management:** Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. **What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):** + Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably in Computer Science, Logistics, or Supply Chain) + Previous project management experience with high impact initiatives + Strong knowledge of Blue Yonder TMS, specifically Blue Yonder Dock Scheduling + Basic knowledge of upstream material planning systems like MRC + Basis knowledge of downstream receiving planning systems like Blue Yonder WMS + Basic knowledge of Crystal/Tableau/PowerBI /Similar Reporting Platform + Basic knowledge of Snowflake, Python, SQL and API + 6 Sigma/Lean Experience + **Transportation - PHA** : Knowledge of and experience with the means of transporting materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers the manufacturing facility. + **Logistics Management** : Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials and supplies. + **Supply Chain Management** : Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and implement strategies, practices and tools for controlling the whole processes. **What You Will Get:** Through it all, we are one team (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYIDne7Q5ek&list=PLwAXbfivFg0jmiNqqgFLeQJpRB\_i-UVln&index=39) – creating and delivering world-class components and solutions superior to the competition.
