Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **Job Summary** Analyzes and develops transportation plans to control the movement of commodities throughout a manufacturing or distribution network to ensure the smooth running of operations at optimal transportation cost levels. **What You Will Do:** • Analyzing transportation plans and identifying opportunities for improvements to meet client needs. • Implementing and maintaining monitoring systems to provide information on shipment status, shipped date, in transit location, estimated arrival date, and actual delivery date. • Generating and analyzing reports of transportation costs, carrier performance and lead times. • Assisting in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity and providing solutions to reduce lead times. **Degree Requirement** Degree or equivalent experience desired **What You Have:** Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes. Level Working Knowledge: • Works with at least one type of transportation mode and carrier. • Ensures on time shipments; anticipates and resolves shipping problems. • Describes common costs and associated billing and freight payment procedures. • Describes pros and cons of different types of domestic transportation alternatives. • Recounts process for issuing bids and analyzing responses from carriers. Logistics Management: Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials and supplies. Level Basic Understanding: • Documents internal and external informative sources or proprietary materials about logistics management. • Describes basic logistical processes and sub-processes. • Explains how improvements in logistics contribute to competitive advantage in the marketplace. • Identifies issues and considerations for inbound and outbound logistics.
