This is the first level of a two-level series. It is distinguished from the higher level by the absence of responsibility for the transportation of patients. This position is responsible for transporting medical equipment, mail, labs, blood products and supplies to and from various locations within the OHSU environment. This transporting work is completed using the Teletracking transportation software and the current technology used to obtain transportation jobs.

Function/Duties of Position

Transports medical equipment, mail, labs, blood products and supplies to and from various locations within the OHSU environment. These locations are, but not limited to: nursing units, diagnostic areas, clinics, exam rooms, operating rooms, laboratories, morgue or offices.

Operates elevators for patient and equipment movement. Relieves elevator operators for breaks.

Cleans and disinfects transportation medical equipment: stretchers, wheelchairs, morgue carts, HoverMatts, pillows and utility transport carts

Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Ability to safely transfer equipment, supplies, specimens and blood.

Must be responsible and properly trained in the transportation of bio-hazardous items within 90 days of hire. 

In-house biohazardous items handling  Other compass modules as assigned
