The Transport Planner will work closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and the public to ensure that transportation needs are met. The successful candidate will conduct feasibility studies, impact assessments, and develop long-term strategies that align with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of transportation systems and traffic patterns.
- Develop and maintain transportation models to assess current and future needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement transportation projects.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and proposals for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Engage with community members and stakeholders to gather input on transportation planning initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of transportation projects and recommend improvements.
- Stay updated on new transportation technologies and best practices in the field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in transportation modeling software (e.g., VISUM, VISSIM, Synchro, SIDRA, HCS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
