This lead position is within Sargent & Lundy's Consulting Group and will be responsible for the following:
Manage different consulting engagements related to power system studies for transmission interconnection projects, including external coordination with clients and internal coordinationProvide guidance and oversight to junior engineers performing power system modeling and analysisParticipate in business development including identification of new work, preparation of proposals, provide input project scope, approach, schedule, and budgetMaintain up-to-date knowledge of industry technology and applications of new technologies QualificationsWe do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
Essential skills and experience:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and sufficient industry experience is considered in lieu of an advanced degreeA minimum of 8 years relevant engineering experience with at least 2 years of experience in leading a team of power systems engineersExperience in load flow and contingency analysis to identify transmission thermal and voltage constraints and to identify transfer capability limitsExperience using transmission planning software for load flow modeling, contingency analysis, and stability analysis using PSS/E, PSLF, TARAValued but not required skills and experience:
Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering is preferredExperience in stability analysis to identify critical clearing times, identify voltage constraints and analyze power system dampingExperience in electromagnetic transient analysis using PSCADExperience in short circuit analysis and using software programs CAPE or ASPENKnowledge of power regions and ISOs/RTOs, such as: PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC, ISO-NEExperience in Python, Java Script, or other scripting languages Award-Winning BenefitsAt Sargent & Lundy, we care about the health and well-being of our employees.
