The Translator will serve as an official translator for Raytheon personnel based in the area of Rzeszów on an indefinite term contract. The translator will manage, facilitate and provide effective written and oral translation, primarily in support of formal tender procedures, negotiations and other related activities with the Polish Ministry of Defense (MoD), Armed Forces, various other Polish Government agencies and the Polish business community. Responsibilities include translation ensuring that the meaning, tone, and nuance of the original are preserved from both Polish to English, and English to Polish, and interpretation of oral statements with an accurate reproduction of the intent of the original statement preserving the proper terminology, register and accuracy. The material for translation will include non-technical and technical information, legal language and unique military terminology. The Translator will also serve as an editor or proofreader of written documents provided by other team members. This position is located in Rzeszow, Poland. **What You Will Do** + • Prepare written translation of correspondence originating from either Raytheon or Polish government and industry sources to facilitate proposal submissions, discussions, and negotiations.• Serve as official translator for Raytheon personnel in both formal and informal meetings, conferences, and other interactions by providing consecutive, simultaneous and chuchotage interpretation of discussions and briefings.• Perform a vista translation of documents while accurately relaying concepts, ideas and intent of the original statement. • Serve as an editor and proofreader to provide consistent and accurate translations of written documents originating from either third parties contracted by the company, or from company employees.• Accompany foreign visitors and facilitate communication with Raytheon personnel for visitors with limited English proficiency.• Provide accurate written translation of contract letters, company correspondence, policies, regulations, technical documents, procedures and general business documents.• Assist Raytheon personnel by interpreting and/or preparing ad-hoc translation of Polish and/or English business correspondence originating from various sources.• Maintain and develop a glossary of commonly used Polish/English technical and military terminology.• Provide interpretation of the meaning and intent of the Polish equivalency of English terminology.• Support non-Polish Raytheon personnel in their process of transitioning and settling into Poland, on an ad-hoc basis.• Assists Raytheon personnel with other ad-hoc translation related responsibilities, as may be directed. **What You Will Learn** • Obtain new learning and teaming activities across the enterprise. • Learn to work with translation software in a multicultural environment. **Qualifications You Must Have** + Experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience + Technical translation experience + Experience in defense or technical industries + Training and experience in consecutive from English to Polish, and Polish to English + Experience translating English to Polish and Polish to English + Formal training in general translation and editing + Experience with computer assisted translation tools **Qualifications We Prefer** • Ability to become a sworn translator • Training in simultaneous (in the booth and whisper) interpretation • Simultaneous translation ability • Polish military security clearance (if a polish citizen) • Organization and management skills **What We Offer** Whether you’re just starting out on your career journey or are an experienced professional, we offer a robust total rewards package that goes above and beyond with compensation; healthcare, wellness benefits; career development and recognition programs.
