As Translations and Fonts Supervisor you will lead a team that will be responsible of localization of information (texts) of in-vehicle digital displays to deliver Translation and Fonts for automotive digital components and manage its delivery across all vehicles and projects. Also, you will need to support mobile applications, marketing, web, and additional requests to ensure quality and consistency across the company.

+ Manage the development of translation for texts in digital display vehicle components that better fit local market requirements.
+ Manage the development of fonts for texts and icons in digital display vehicle components that better fit local market requirements.
+ Lead the procurement of external services to carry out Translations and Fonts work.
+ Define requirements and rules for the definition of texts and fonts for the different display catalogs that meets ergonomics, legibility, etc. requirements.
+ Work with HMI application team, designers, feature owners, and developers to understand new features and help to identify the best terminology, trade-offs, and guide designers to incorporate local language considerations in prototypes.
+ Manage HMI QOS documentation related to translation and font delivery.Support Hardware and Software Prototyping of HMI Concepts with translations and fonts. Support associated customer clinics.
+ Support evaluations of HMI impacted OTA updates
+ Ensure process discipline across the global organization on the Fonts and Translations workstreams.
+ Develop new and more efficient processes that automate our tasks and improve quality of the deliveries.
+ Support program and project-specific translation activities following Ford's directions.
+ Review and identify issues in the copy that must be translated.
+ Collect and populate translation documents based on inputs from Ford Translation Engineers.
+ Maintain regular contact with Project Managers (PMs) and Designers to stay updated on project statuses and requirements.
+ Maintain constant communication with Language Service Providers to track projects, provide additional context if required, and answer questions
+ Communicate effectively with Local Markets.
+ Stay alert to delivery dates and ensure that all translation and font projects are completed on time.
+ Translate and review additional projects.
+ Approve translations and fonts to ensure they are accurate and meet quality standards.
+ Utilize Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools proficiently to manage translation projects.
+ Translate with Al tools and ensure the review of the content to guarantee quality.
+ Be capable of reading and understanding XML files as part of the translation process.
+ Create, add, and manage database entries in the internal font and translation systems to ensure all project data is up-to-date and accurately recorded.
+ Analyze and detect improvements for internal processes and in the font and translation system.
+ Attend regular translation meetings, create meeting agendas, and document meeting minutes.
+ Support regular meetings among Mexican, United States, and European Translation Teams to align consistency and internal decisions.
+ Support occasional meetings with other countries such as China, Thailand, Dubai, etc. usually in their time zone.
+ Educational Background:Degree in Translation, Linguistics, Localization, International Relations, International Business, Design, or similar.
+ Knowledge and experience in typography concepts and/or translations. Most desired a mix of both.
+ Language Proficiency: C1-C2 English level.
+ A2-B1 in more than one additional language besides Spanish.
Technical Skills:
+ Technologically savvy with a good understanding of XML.
+ Proficient in using CAT tools and other translation-related software.
+ Experience in content management systems.
+ Data analysis and process automation.
+ Knowledge in using Jira for tracking and managing project tasks and issues.
+ Experience working with HMI specifications and interacting with Ul and HMI teams is a plus.
+ Knowledge of electrical and HMI Subsystems (cluster, center stack/Sync, rear displays, physical controls) and driver assistance features preferred.
+ Penchant to learn about new automotive HMI technologies in the industry.
+ Working knowledge of GPDS, Ford Deliverables. Delivery milestones for Design Studios process is a plus.
