Transition to Independence Program Manager Job Details Level Management Job Location Main Campus - Syracuse, NY Position Type Full Time Education Level 4 Year Degree Salary Range $80000.00 - $85000.00 Salary/year Description Position Statement: The Transition to Independence Program Manager is responsible for leading the development, oversight, coordination, and ongoing quality improvement of programs that prepare youth for successful independent living. This role provides strong leadership, effective program management, and clear communication while engaging with diverse stakeholders. Working in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, youth, and their families or support networks, the Program Manager fosters growth, skill-building, and readiness for adulthood. The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking, strategic, and adaptable, ensuring the program meets both current and future needs. Responsibilities: + Properly staffs Transition to Independence programs through effective hiring, supervision, and evaluation of staff. + Coordinates and supervises Transition to Independence Program supervisors, school supervisor, and employment managers, ensuring essential teamwork and consistent adherence to all program policies and procedures. + Supports professional growth and development for program staff through regular structured coaching, team meetings, in-service training, modeling, supporting organizational awareness, and ensuring thorough communication. + Develops and implements comprehensive Transition to Independence programs, including setting program goals and creating policies and procedures. + Leads, teaches, and promotes effective strategies for program management following motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care models of practice. + Utilizes practical management tools and data to create systems of accountability to ensure performance measures are achieved. + Effectively measures the Transition to Independence program effectiveness through data collection and analysis. Identifies areas for improvement and provides regular monitoring. + Ensures Transition to Independence program compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, regulations, and standards. + Maintains operational expenses within budgets, effectively tracks expenses, and ensures financial accountability for expenditures. + Builds and maintains relationships with community organizations, referral sources, and regulatory agencies. + Other Duties as Assigned. Essential Job Qualifications: + Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. + Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills. + Excellent leadership skills to effectively manage and oversee all aspects of the program, including staff supervision, program development, and youth care. + Ability to build rapport with youth, staff, and stakeholders. + Ability to make sound professional decisions quickly despite a stressful atmosphere. + Ability to provide crisis intervention, including physical restraints. Restraints may include resistive force, bending, squatting, kneeling, lying down, and holding the youth to maintain safety. + Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance. + Ability to sit, squat, crouch, and stand for extended periods. + Ability to lift arms overhead in a reaching motion. + Ability to walk up and down stairs several times per day. + Travel as required based on departmental needs. + Valid Driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier. + Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. + Experience working with an EHR.
