:
The Transfusion Services Supervisor assists the Laboratory Manager and Director of Laboratory in achieving efficient Laboratory operation by supervising and directing the overall operation of Transfusion Services. This position is responsible for maintaining regulatory requirements of the FDA and Department of Health, CAP and other regulatory bodies.
Provides technical and administrative supervision, plans future section operation, assesses and maintain all phases of inventory and budget control and assesses the appropriateness of the testing program. This position works closely with all other Laboratory Leaders to provide continuity of all Laboratory operations on all shifts.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (hospital based formal internship required) or in a related science from an accredited college with subsequent relevant clinical laboratory experience for a total of 6 years.
Registration with ASCP or equivalent certification is highly recommended. OR Master’s degree from an approved institution with a major in one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences and, subsequent to graduation, has had at least 4 years of pertinent laboratory experience.
Meets New York State qualifications for a Supervisor.
Certification as Specialist in Blood Bank preferred.
Must have a working knowledge in all areas of the clinical laboratory being supervised.
Two years experience in a Transfusion Service required.

Pay Range: $37.80 - $47.05
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location
