Become a Transformer Helper at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll support SC&M’s (Substation, Construction & Maintenance) substation equipment retirement process and SF6 gas handling by ensuring proper disposal of retired equipment, investment recovery, and handling of SF6 gas cylinders, carts, and analyzers. Responsibilities
Assists specialists and foremen and performs semi-skilled work at shop or field locations to dismantle electrical-mechanical generation and substation primary and auxiliary apparatus and equipment. Transports tools, materials, and equipment to and from job site. Dismantles, cleans, reconditions, or replaces and assembles apparatus as directed. Rigs and signals for the operation of material handling equipment. Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, cranes, hoists and chain-falls and light truck. Performs semi-skilled mechanical work, general housekeeping, and unskilled tasks. A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity. Minimum Qualifications
One or more years of experience performing semi-skilled electrical, mechanical or basic construction work. Possess a valid California Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with general application of hand and power operated tools. Experience with following general safety practices and first aid. Experience Operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, manlifts, hoists and chain-falls and light trucks. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Testing
This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Reference our Information Guides for the following tests: EEI CAST Test (Test #5108) and SC&M Transformer Helper Physical Performance Test (Test #4027). Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
