Job Description:

Primary Objective:

To manufacture transducers and extensometers utilizing strain gage-based theory, operational abilities, small component assembly, testing and electronic measurement of MTS transducer products. 

Major Areas of Accountability:

1. Manufacture and Test Transducers

Build and functionally test standard and custom strain gauge-based transducers using engineering prints, work instructions, and departmental procedures.Manufacturing includes, soldering, wiring and small and or medium sized mechanical assembly.

2.Troubleshoot and Resolve Manufacturing Issues

Use available resources to identify and resolve issues related to design, documentation, materials, processes, and equipment.

3.Utilize and Maintain Manufacturing Documentation

Reference and update transducer-specific manufacturing records (e.g., database entries).Follow process instructions accurately.Identify and report necessary changes to engineering prints to the appropriate personnel.

4.Provide Technical Support for Product Development and Continuous Improvement

Assemble complex products, occasionally with limited documentation.Resolve technical issues related to layout, wiring, fixtures, etc.Optimize processes for quality, accuracy, and efficiency.Recommend and support the design of fixtures.Identify and address process and equipment constraints.

5.Support Cross-Functional Departments

Cross-train in multiple disciplines to support various manufacturing operations.Contribute to special strain gauging and calibration projects.Assist Engineering with prototype product development.

6.Communicate Effectively

Keep Leads, Supervisors, Engineers, and peers informed of progress, issues, and process changes.Share ideas for design and process improvements.Constructively express concerns regarding scheduling, development, product quality, and morale.

7.Demonstrate Professional Conduct

Maintain separation between personal and work matters.Collaborate with team members by leveraging shared strengths.Address issues promptly and professionally.Foster a cooperative and respectful team environment.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace by applying 5S principles daily.

8.Manage Time and Priorities Effectively

Maximize productivity, meet route times and delivery goals, and uphold quality standards.Manage concurrent tasks and responsibilities to meet all deadlines.

9.Perform Additional Duties as Assigned

Support departmental and organizational needs as requested.

Compensation Information:

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $23.25-$35.40 dependent on relevant education and experience.
