Preventing financial economic crime (FEC) is one of the key aspects for our society and our organization, and as a bank, we play a major role in this field. As a TM Coverage Expert, you are part of the TM Control Standards department within the Transaction Monitoring pillar of the Financial Economic Crime organization. The Control Standards department for TM is vital in its contribution to our risk management framework.

This team is responsible for ensuring that the bank complies with the applicable WfT and WwFT regulations and requirements set forth by Compliance and regulatory bodies across the globe. In this capacity, the team acts as the First Line of Responsibility in protecting the bank’s reputation, financial assets, and customer relationships by preventing the bank from engaging in prohibited transactions and activities. Within the TM Control Standards department, you are part of the Repository & Coverage TM team, reporting to the Team Lead TM Coverage.

Practical examples

Ensuring that TM detection risks are identified, prioritized, and continuously improved for Retail NL and all W&R regions.

Driving both long-term strategic actions and short-term tactical responses based on coverage assessments and detection feedback loops

Prioritizing quarterly initiatives, and supporting Rabobank’s subsidiaries in aligning their TM coverage and control design.

Your responsibilities

Execution of and providing support to the yearly Transaction Monitoring Coverage Assessments for Global Business Lines (Retail NL and all W&R regions)

Keeping our global overview of internal and external red flags and scenarios related to Money Laundering and Terrorism Finance up to date and complete

Work closely together with FEC Tech and the Control Design team to ensure timely and effective implementation of coverage related actions from the Coverage Assessments and feedback loop

In this dynamic role within Transaction Monitoring, you will be at the heart of a global effort to strengthen the bank’s AML/CTF framework by designing and maintaining the Global TM Coverage Assessment Methodology, collaborating with a wide array of stakeholders—from risk and compliance to regulators and subsidiaries—to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.

Your work will also involve representing TM’s compliance with Wwft, maintaining strong internal and external relationships to align with industry best practices, and contributing to model improvement initiatives alongside scenario experts and model developers—all with the goal of making transaction monitoring more effective, efficient, and future-ready.

You and your talent

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree;

5+ years relevant experience in the financial industry, preferably within the FEC related fields;

Knowledge of national and international AML/CTF laws and regulations & knowledge of the banking domain, financial products and services;

Ideally you have experience in translating regulatory requirements and financial economic risks into functional designs and/or processes;

Ideally a solid knowledge and understanding of the Rabobank Wholesale & Rural regions, products and ways of working;

Fluent in English, both verbal and written;

Stakeholder management skills;

Next to that customer focus, complex problem solving, collaborating and creativity are essential. It is important that you are a team player who enjoys collaboration, is pro-active, flexible, business focused and not afraid to take ownership in fighting Financial Economic Crime.
