The Deal Management team provides a seamless experience to the brokerage community within Cushman & Wakefield’s Advisory business, primarily focused on the post-close transaction process. The Transaction Accountant role will specialize and focus on the transactional accounting aspects within the Deal Management workflow and will partner closely with the internal Corporate Controllership, Regional Operations, Deal Desk team, Market Operations and Advisory Fee Earner.The ideal candidate is an organized, detail-oriented professional with a strong customer-centric mindset. The ideal candidate excels at problem-solving, is comfortable analyzing large data sets, and has experience reviewing and interpreting complex contracts, leases, and commission agreements. The candidate will prioritize and maintain organization of a high-volume workload. Success in this role requires the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, maintaining a solution-driven approach when faced with challenges.
Job Description
Transaction Revenue Review
Complete review of all Advisory transactions and adjustments with designated threshold verifying:All required documentation is present, current, and fully executedCommissions are accurately calculated, input, and reflected in the systemPayment terms are captured properlyOutside Brokers, Client Fee Share and internal splits are accurately reflected where applicableDeals are processed in accordance with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition Guidelines, in addition to month-end and year-end deal entry deadlinesAll expenses associated with the transaction are being recovered (related to OTT, OTB and DFC)Record and manage lease contingencies, commission billing and payment due datesRequest recall, reject or approve upon review of the transactionTrack and collaborate with the submitter to address all recalled or rejected transactionsCollaboration may include future coaching session, group training, targeted guidance on specific areas to update within the transaction, etc…Address any transactions rejected by the Revenue Recognition teamMeet all KPIs and SLAs related to transaction processing (includes accuracy and production targets)Initiate Fee Earner transaction adjustments as necessary in Salesforce (i.e. Post/Pre Cash, Net Override or Special Handling)Provide Deal Management consulting to colleagues in Deal Desk, Advisory Fee Earners, Admins/Coordinators, and local/regional Leadership by answering questions related to required deal documentation and revenue recognition at either the pre or post close phase of the transactionTake a proactive and creative approach to problem-solve issues or challenges and provide input for issue improvements, issue resolution or escalationsUse tech-enabled functionality within the Deal Management system (Engage/Salesforce) to organize, track and manage the daily transaction review processFINTRAC Compliance
FINTRAC collaboration with broker teams to collect necessary documentation and run watchdog reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirementsReceivables Analysis & Management
Proactively review and monitor aged receivables in accordance with the current policies and processes.Trust DepositProcess commission payments received and provide cash application instructions to the FSCOwnership of researching, applying, and documenting unapplied cash in the systemPartner monthly with Advisory brokers and market leadership to determine and coordinate action on aged receivablesReview outstanding AR against Unapplied CashResolve commission payment misapplicationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams (i.e. Legal, Revenue Recognition, Accounts Receivable) to verify collectability and issue demand lettersDetermine any significantly aged items that need to be escalated to local or regional leadership to be addressedWrite-off outstanding receivables with approval from necessary parties and in accordance with bad debt policyHelp identify trends or themes that can be addressed through process improvement and/or training to decrease the time to collection and/or bad debtInitiate refunds, stop/void/reissue of paymentTransaction Inquiries & Coaching
Support Advisory brokers and/or market operations on commission related questions (i.e. payment inquiries: overpayment, underpayment, deductions, transaction detail & account balances)Provide coaching on the revenue recognition process to peers and colleagues in Deal Management, Fee Earners and Market Operations; Providing guidance and best practice feedbackAd hoc Client Fee Share supportReporting

Fluent in both French and English, capable of switching between languages seamlessly in both verbal and written communication as well as being skilled in reading, writing, and understanding French to accurately interpret documents, respond to clients, and facilitate communication with French-speaking internal and external stakeholders.
